Research assistant and patient partner

Brief info

Holder of a bachelor's degree in sociology and a diploma of specialized higher studies in clinical ethics from the University of Montreal, Marie-Anne aims to obtain a master's degree in medical biosciences, concentration in clinical ethics at fall 2023 under the direction of Mrs. Marie-Pascale Pomey. Marie-Anne has been working at the CEPPP since January 2022 as a research assistant and patient partner. She is particularly interested in experiential knowledge, life trajectories, telemedicine as well as epistemic and social injustices within the health system.
Marie-Anne lives with several health issues, including diabetes, which she has made her war horse to integrate partnership into care practices. Her background in sociology gave her the opportunity to put her experience with illness into words and turn that experience into something powerful and positive.
As part of her research, Marie-Anne adopts a feminist, queer and social approach. Marie-Anne wishes to continue her commitment with the CEPPP, particularly in e-health projects and those related to patient autonomy.
